Our Story

In 1903 and 1904 our family bought land in and around Sawmills, NC. Today we still farm 125 acres of that land. We raise our cattle the same way they did more than a century ago. We give them plenty of green grass, clean water, and quality hay. Nothing else. Nothing extra. Just the way God intended.

Our beef cattle operation finds its roots in the dairy industry. Eugene Wilson, our family's 3rd generation farmer, was a dairy farmer in the Dry Ponds area of Sawmills until the mid-1970's. With his kids grown and no help to milk cows, Eugene brought in a black Angus bull to breed to his Holstein cows. The beef herd that was raised out of those calves are part of what we still raise 50 years later. In addition to our black Angus we now have Hereford beef cattle, as well as purebred Belted Galloway beef cattle. Our Belted Galloways have that famous "Oreo" look with the white belt around their midsection.

In 2010, at the ages of 4 and 5, our 6th generation of farmers started picking blueberries to sell to a local farm for their roadside stand. We used Dru and Cooper's first initials and started calling that part of our "farm" DC Farms. When day-to-day management of the overall farm transitioned a few years later, we took the new farm name and applied it to our century-old farm.

We are proud of our agricultural roots. Our family farm has it's 4th, 5th, & 6th generations raising the same quality beef we've enjoyed since 1903. We hope you'll let us help your family enjoy that same quality beef.
